Kareem Hunt – Sr / 5’10″ / 216 lbs – Toledo

  • Strong senior season rushing 262 times (6.3 ypc) for 1,475 yards and 10 TDs.
  • Had a great statistical season as a sophomore rushing for 1,631 yards on 205 carries (8 ypc) with 16 TDs.
  • All-MAC 1st team in 2016
  • MVP of the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl rushing for 271 yards and 5 TDs.
  • Showed his ability in the passing game with good hands in 2016 by catching 41 balls for 403 yards and another score.
  • When I watch his tape I see his great vision as he seemed to always pick the right holes or anticipated where the hole would eventually be once he got there.
  • Great footwork setting up defenders one way to only shift with spins, jump cuts, cut-backs to the other direction allowing for bigger gains.
  • Is one of the best in this class using his ability to break tackles and was credited with 98 in 2016.
  • Powerful lower body with amazing balance who can get through the hole in a hurry.
  • Hunt had the best fumble rate in this draft class which we can all agree is important at the NFL level.  He had a single fumble on 856 college carries, let that sink in for a minute.  That’s insane!
  • Not the fasted RB, but has solid short-area quickness allowing him to get to the 2nd level often.
  • PFF compares Hunt to to 2016 rookie Kenneth Dixon.
  • Hunt was suspended for the first 2 games of his Jr season due to a violation of team rules.
  • Missed 3 games as a sophomore due to injuries and 2 as a junior.
  • Struggles at times with pass-blocking due to size, but his hands make up for it in the passing game.
  • At times he danced behind the line too much which won’t work in the NFL.
  • Recruited by Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Pittburgh before committing to Toledo.
  • Rated by Rivals as a 3-star recruit coming out of HS
  • COMBINE UPDATE: 40 = 4.62, Vertical = 36 1/2″, Broad Jump = 9’11”, Bench = 18
  • DYNASTY ROOKIE: 2nd rounder in a deep RB class who doesn’t dominate at any specific thing, but is good in almost all aspects.  Will more than likely start his career as a CoP/RBBC kind of back, so prepare to be patient.
