Isaiah Ford – junior / 6’2″ / 195 – Virginia Tech

  • Very crafty at getting behind the defense and finds holes in coverage
  • Devastating in space even though he may not dazzle with his 40 time
  • Glides his hips like an amphibian swimming
  • Will cause fits for boundary corners with his ability to gain separation and shade against
  • His active feet make him hard to cover man-to-man and wrap up
  • Crafty with double moves, can be deceptive with shoulders and thighs
  • Could carve niche and trust with a team as a returner man during his rookie season
  • Sets up the coverage well, generally seems to one step ahead
  • Averaged 37 points a game (basketball) as high school senior #ballskills
  • Started 11 games as a true freshman
  • While his athletic skill set is seemingly off the charts, he needs to work on gaining strength to beat press coverage
  • Needs to grab ball tighter when bringing it into his body
  • Compares to Victor Cruz and Justin Hunter, lets hope better than both
  • Will need to run more precise routes and expand his route tree in order to be a majority snap share player
  • Was 3-star athlete coming out of high school and was ranked the #67 WR in the nation as well as the #61 player in the state of Florida
  • Also heavily recruited by Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Minnesota, South Carolina and West Virginia
  • He visited Louisville
  • Alabama, Arkansas, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oregon and Wisconsin also showed interest
  • COMBINE UPDATE: 40= 4.61, Vertical 35 1/2, Broad Jump 10’6″, 3-cone = 4.49, Bench = 14
  • NFL DRAFT SELECTION: Round 3-4
  • DYNASTY ROOKIE: 2.01-3.01, his thin frame will not instill first round trust but he is the perfect second round gamble.
